The Diocese of Central Florida

Cursillo Community Welcomes YOU!

The Cursillo movement’s purpose is to help those in the church understand their individual calling to be Christian Leaders through the use of a specific method that equips and encourages those christian leaders to live out their Baptismal Covenant to serve Christ.

The Central Florida Cursillo  website provides information, resources and community for those seeking to live the rest of their lives in the faith of Jesus Christ.

 Getting Started

Cursillo is patterned on Jesus’ own example. He searched out and called a small group of potential leaders. He trained them by word and example and inspired them with a vision. He linked them together and sent them out in the world to bring the world to him.

Are your grounded in your faith and have  been seeking to grow your knowledge, awareness & love of God in the world?

This is the beginning of Christian leadership and the Diocese of Central Florida Cursillo movement encourages you to take the next step.

Two Day Weekend

The weekend is intended to enrich and deepen your faith by bringing together a diverse group of Episcopalians to share the richness of many modes of worship and to broaden each one’s appreciation for our church. Lay people conduct the weekend with two or three clergy members functioning as spiritual advisors. The weekend starts on Friday and runs through Sunday filled with talks, meditations, Holy Eucharist, fellowship, music & great food.

By the end of the weekend, you will have new insights on our faith and a direction for fostering ministry among lay people.

 Fourth Day

After the weekend, you begin the long range practice of your Baptismal Covenant in the life of the Church. The “Fourth Day” is actually the rest of your life.

To keep you encouraged and supported, the Cursillo Method has three parts to connect you in:

Group Reunion – a small group of friends meeting each week to uphold and support each other on their spiritual journey.

Ultreya – a “reunion of reunions” held monthly to build the larger Episcopal community to share their communal experiences.

Spiritual Direction – It is a commitment to seek out skilled clergy or lay persons for spiritual direction to deepen their union with Christ.
